Quotetracker

Hi

Ive been reading about "Quotetracker" . Im concerned about the need to enter a user and password into it for my broker. Has anyone had any issues with this program. Are there any free "live data" sources that could be used instead of using my broker?

I have used quotetracker for over a year and have had no problems with it, password or otherwise. I find it to be a good program and the interface is good once you set it up how you like it. I don't know of any live data that is free.

Even if I enter my password and user name, it does not really work. I do not know what is going on.
I have a account with etrade. It does not provide me with on time data unless I pay $80 to subscribe to iress. Does that mean I can have free data by using quote tracker?

Can anyone please tell me how many adverts I have to click on to keep Quotetracker operating? Is it a percentage or a number each day?

I never click on the advert and it operates just fine. I think it's only if you want the add to disappear completely that you have to click on it a certain number of times. I personally don't find it too much of a problem having it there.

Agreed. I use free version of Quotetracker (with ads) and never ever click the ad and just keep working without any problem. I subscribe the data from Market Feed about A$25 a month (depend on the currency rate).. And yes, it's for US market..

Hi I've been using quotetracker for over 2 years and think its the best thing since sliced bread. As far as security goes user name & password are encrypted once you set it up. I use Sanford for my data feed and only once had a problem which Gerry Medved promptly sorted out.
You are supposed to regularly click on the adverts but like the others above I never do.
A really great program.

Have to Agree with the plugs above, it is damm good given the FREE version can retreive near realtime data from your broker (commsec, etrade, etc) (Paid version also available with no 6 month Data restrictions or ads.)

Decent Charts, Fib Retracements, Lots of Indicators, Portfolio, Alerts, Pressure, Trend, Ranges, Index Monitoring, etc etc

The only thing I didn't like was the Nag popup every so often, to fill registration form of moi.... which I entered my long lost cousins info...

Highly Recommend This Program and supprised the little Gem is not more heavily used(hope they send me a cheque for all this pluggin... LOL)

-- only works now with ASX Australia

Can you please provide the link to Medved Trader beta version to download

Still being a beta version there are a few things that are not fully implemented BUT it does work --- not with Westpac but it does work with Commsec.

Bid amount is wrong
Volume is wrong
Low & High are wrong

Should know extent of problem fields after the close today

-- I installed MEDVED TRADER today which has the same problem as QuoteTracker

We have seen issues with the ASX feed the last few weeks. I am not sure what is going on with that feed. They may have changed something in the data feed. If that is the case, we will not be able to accommodate the change, as we are no linger actively developing QT. You may want to look to see what charting tools are available from you brokerage firm.

For Quotetracker version 3.9.8, today I note that some of the fields
are no longer showing valid data using feed from ASX Australia
-- note that Bid, High, Low and Volume are wrong
-- will not know the full extend of problem until after the close today
