Just a quickie - is Incredible Charts free or a subscription service? I read somewhere on the site about its "free charting software" but also about a free trial, so I am confused. Free or Free Trial?

Also, I am about to open a trading account with Westpac or Commsec - and would like to know if these platforms have their own charting software like Incredible Charts. Once again, thanks for your time.

Gday shortlist,

Incredible charts is free but the free service is delayed data.About 18hrs delayed from memory.

Its $18 a month for the full service the charts are about an hour delayed.Ive got comsec and incredible charts is much much better than the comsec charting program.

I would just sign up for the free service with incredible charts and get use to the platform etc. When u get abit more serious pay the $18.Its best for eod trading really not for live trading. But its still very good value and had alot of different features where comsec is pretty pathetic.I dont know anything about westpacs charting program.

any questions let me know

cheers

dont commsec and wetpuc just use IRESS but label it under some fancy name like (pro) trader to make it sound good..... then when u realise it is IRESS it is a major let down and disapointment :)
the old commsec platform looked really good, to bad its no longer available. Unfortunatly IRESS is the biggest downgrade a trader could make :)

Gday tasmanian - thanks for this. IC looks great so far, and I'll take your advice about upgrading when more experienced. On the Commsec thing I think they might be cheaper per trade than Westpac as well, but not by much.

Do you know if IRESS uses up-to-date charting data? Why is it a downgrade?

personally i wouldnt bother with IC, I think its a waste of time.. Why pay when you can just use procharts egoli, hubb investor or quotetracker with a FREE delayed 25 min feed. I dont know why anyone would pay that $18 for an update every hour which is heavily delayed anyway. Seriously, If I was you take a look at those programs before you lash out and pay for IC..

Procharts and Hubb investor are FAR better than IC in terms of interface and layout and not to mention price.
And then again if all you need is eod there are a handfull of better charting programs out there in my opinion. Such as pro real time to only name one. I have tried nearly every program out there :)

IRESS is live data straight from the ASX. Hence why it costs $80 a month if you do less than 10 or so trades.

It is a downgrade because the charting is absolutely pitiful and the interface looks so robotic and does not look smooth at all.
