To see Peter on Q & A just reinforces how much he is missed on the frontline of the political scene.

As usual he was intelligent, witty, cutting, and impressive.

I can't help but think that as the economic crisis bites deeper and the clowns on both sides of politics continue to juggle their positions and thoughts, voters might be thinking that their main problem they had with Costello (The Smirk) seems rather trivial.

Judging by the level of support for him in the audience (and on the panel) many may be saying "all is forgiven". I almost felt sorry for Lindsay Tanner..........almost.

The support is slowly building people. Now it is only a matter of time.

id like to see costello as leader. if only for his wit in parliament. only wilson tuckey may be more riveting...lol

I was watching the show last night and thought that he was really enjoying himself. He was quite witty, almost hosting the show as he desired. Referring to Kevin Rudd as the dentist was a sensational ploy, the one profession we all despise and perhaps creating a platform to launch himself.

I think he will step up to the plate just before the next election and be voted in easily. Without a doubt he still wants to be PM otherwise he would have quit politics after the last election.

Although I don't like him very much I think the way he has played this has been very good. He stepped back after the last election and let the liberals fight it out and implode to a certain extent without getting any mud on himself, now he can just step up when he thinks the time is right and look like the almighty saviour - very very smart imo.

Rudd and Swan will be easy pickings for him imo, Gillard is probably the only one with enough wit to even come close to matching it with Costello.

It's all in the timing, but what a basket case this country will be when he gets to be PM.

I've always felt that Costello would bide his time by waiting until the Rudd government has really put a sour taste in everyone's mouth, then he'll step into the top job when the country is desperately looking for someone to pull us out of the mire.
In the meantime he'll keep himself just enough in the limelight with public displays of wit and intelligence, while his own party argue and bicker over the leadership, and Rudd and Swan and their pals dig us further into a hole.
Sooner or later the general public will practically beg Costello to step up to the top job.
My guess is Costello as PM, Hockey as treasurer. Not sure where Turnbull will fit in, but he many also be a candidate for treasurer.

And Barnaby!!! I love watching his interviews.

His last gem on Lateline last week, when asked for his comment to the Coalition in-fighting............ "Tony.....I learnt a long time ago, when you walk into your house and Mum and Dad are fighting - don't take sides"

Not at all original, Dame Edna dubbed Kevin "the dentist" when he was still Opposition Leader.

And hey, go easy on dentists, most of them don't despise their (lucrative) profession.

Yeh Duckman, I like Barnaby too. And he's a country boy - that makes him even better!

Somehow I don’t like Q and A, just some good questions and no good answers.
Typical smart asses comments, outwitted witters and nothing to hold on after the show, just crap.

And I am sick and tired of that name-calling and comparisons to dentists, dogs or whatever.

Maybe entertaining, but we are talking about questions and answers to save our lives from misery of depression.

Why don't you like him very much?

No solid reason really, something about him just rubs me up the wrong way. Maybe it's that arrogant smirk and demeanour he has but it won't stop me voting for him if he is the best option available.

Agree. Q and B/S would be more descriptive of the show's contents (IMHO).
Sorry, off topic.

Mr. C. doesn't do it for me either.

I thought he came across as complacent, flippant, and smug. I also think his exploitation of the mess and muddle in the Liberal Party is irresponsible, and I'm bored to tears with his pathetic games about the leadership. His brother is worth 10 of him.
