Why is it that people are so quick to judge based on print medai when stories are based on sensationalism yet hold those same people, discredited in such high esteem when not under the microscope?
(which is most of ASF i hope).
so who did you want to tear shreds off sanquar?
Sensationalism sells Sanquar/Stannnnnnnn etc!
You have to jazz it up/make it big/make it so even the most mainstream/common people can read it and talk about it amongst friends/colleagues etc. There is no point in discriminating against anybody...it just won't sell! Classic case in point...Herald Sun versus The Age...I don't think I even need to explain the differences in the 2 and the sales volumes...but the proof is in the pudding...
I read the Herald Sun and 2 reasons only...the glossy pictures (haw haw) and the Sport. Everything else is basically New Idea or Woman's Weekly in everyday format.
Oh and to answer your question in that the benefit of the doubt has disappeared from print as of late...was it ever there? People are very quick to judge when they want to be right/want somebody to be proven wrong just to tell others "I told you so". It's basic human instinct; since the dawn of time people have judged on appearance, religion etc and not on the content of their character...from these instincts and initial judgments people determine whether they will like or dislike, trust or not...the list goes on. I once read that people will judge somebody on the first 4 seconds of seeing/meeting them. Not a lot of time to make an impression eh?
