O yes indeed! Monumental hypocrisy! I almost choked when I read the piece below:-

...... when it is a matter of history that the Pope and the Vatican sided with Hitler against the Jews in WWII. There was never a single word of condemnation of the persecution of the Jews from the Vatican, and many bishops and cardinals were known Nazi sympathisers. Catholic priests paid homage to Hitler and contributed to the anti-Semitic feelings, and several priests also protected Nazis from criminal charges, helping them to escape, hiding them, and obtaining false papers for them.

Old Benedict must think the world has a short memory........ or he just gives himself permission to rewrite history as it suits. I find it disgusting.

How Catholics can listen to this sort of abject rubbish and retain their faith in their church is quite beyond me.

And I'd reserve some criticism for Queen Elizabeth (whom I usually defend) for her euphemistic speech of welcome to the Pope, wherein she highlighted the wonderful contributions of the catholic faith to society.

Yeah right. Just bet all those sexual abuse victims are agreeing with her.
As will be the sufferers from HIV Aids because the Pope has banned the use of condoms.
Etc, etc.

Did you know Goebbels was the only member of the Nazi Hierarchy who was excommunicated? Not for that whole Holocausty thing, but for the other great crime against humanity................... marrying a protestant.
