Hi aussies!
Posting from NZ. At the moment I'm trading CFDs with IGmarkets, however am feeling pretty limited using their online java platform (not the fastest for band trading), not being able to see trading volume and would like to get into trading in a more professional manner.

So after reading up on it, I'm keen to get ahold of Ninjatrader. However I'm still relatively new to the more professional methods of day-trading, so was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for companies to sign up with? Would american datafeeds still be fast enough for those of us under the equator? What have your experiences been? Local brokers or american?

Cheers,
Jordan

Jordan,

I use Ninja with Velocity Futures (USA). I would not recomend using an Aussie broker as the margin requirements and commissions are a lot higher than the USA ones.

Do some searches and you'll find quite a few in the USA which are very competitive and offer a good service.

If you want to get used to Ninja Trader you can get Gain Fx feed for free
or mirus futures feed for one month free (e-minis)through assie sponsoring brokers. However the ultimate IMO would be using Ninja with IB brokers keeping in mind that their leverage is lower and you need $10k USD to open an account.:D

Cheers gentlemen,
I've decided to give the GAIN forex feed a go, and have gotten it working in Ninja trader. Hoping to develop a system!
