Thats not good news. I assume it was in the Targa rally. People from my office are racing in the event and i remember them saying Peter Brock was also in the competition.

I suppose motor racing is dangerous, but its still not something you expect.

A sad week for Australia
 
With any luck it will be the PM next..........I go on the 'third time lucky' principal.........at least Brocky went out in style too.......the PM will probably cark it by tripping over and falling on a Union flag pole through the heart......with any luck!

RIP Brocky........you were a hero and now a legend.

Peter Brock..... Another advanced soul gone home, indeed a shame.

I was just listening to a fellow driver on the radio (didn't get the name), but he remarked that PB, though fiercly competitive, was always a driver you could trust when racing against him; and that this trust is virually non existent in todays racing.

Another old style fair dinkum Aussie gone.

I'll never forget those shots in the car at Bathurst with Brocky just glued to the job eyes googled,head slightly forward,feet dancing on the pedals,and that un mistakable purrr of the big V8,barking at every corner with fire breathing out of the dragon before accelerating out of the Mountain.

Both of these guys I enjoyed watching and looked up to. I remember watching brock at bathurst as a kid dreaming of being a race car driver, and I remember acting like steve on my brothers bucks night. haha.

RIP to both
 
Words can't describe how big of a tragedy this is for Australia. I only hope his passing isnt overshadowed by the death of Steve Irwin. Ill be wearing my team brock shirt in reverance tomorrow.

As for the passing of the Prime Minister; grow up! If morons lose money out of his policies then BLOODY WELL GOOD! If theres anyone to be the third it should be Germaine Greer or similar.

Australia needs to compete on a global level. The PM knows this and has implemented legislation to ensure it. Those with skills needed will still be paid accordingly. Oh, I worked selling vacuum cleaners 80hrs a week, milked cows 80hrs a week and now I sit on my butt and trade (if I feel like it). I am going on holiday and paying $400 bucks a night coz I can afford to since I worked hard and made good choices with my career and investments.

You can start another thread if you want coz we shouldnt detract from brocky here any further.

Just go easy on the pedal approaching the Pearly Gates, at least till they open them and let you in (sure they will)

Bathurst or Mt panarama should stay as is. It is a race track. People die there. Greg Hansford (rest his soul) is just as worthy as Brock.
Brock was champion of the mountain in it's hayday as was Hansford when on two wheeels.
It will allways be Bathhurst and Mt panarama for now an forever. Brock was good in his time, maybe the best, but lets not diminish others who have lived and died for that mountain.. To me Hansford was a ledgend, too.
 
We should get a statue erected at least, like "King Wally" at Lang Park. God pity the bloke that tries to paint that in ford get-up though. I dont think that would detract from others that have died in motorsport; they can have their own memorials there or elsewhere.
