Whatever you think of Pauline and One Nation, the team that put together her satirical cartoons each Friday do a cracking job of nailing the political topics of the moment. No one is spared. My favourite caricature is of Pocock and Katter.

These always put a smile on my face each Friday morning.

I have a close friend whose female child has decided to be a boy, at age 13. Can she really know she's a boy?

I can't imagine what that would be like to manage as a parent.

Throughout the world most countries are stepping back on this as they can see how much damage they have done to these poor teenagers already.

The medical profession who actually deal with these kids have found that 90% are social misfits and enjoy being treated as a special person if they switch gender.

At my grandkids school (in Victoria) they have their own exclusive lunch room, their own exclusive changing room, they can elect to be involved or sit out whatever they choose.

I would suggest that the majority of kids enjoy special treatment, the reason does not matter

Never understood why they can't just behave like one naturally without feeling the need to transform.

However always been a fan Of Hanson.
Not the brightest spark but you don't have to be to know things are crook in this 2 party country.
Seriously something should be changed so that those elected under a particular party can't at a whim become an independent.
The only flaw One Nation has had over all these years.

I'm not sure how close Albo is getting to be like Scomo but this is probably a decent meme on what happens to any party that gets in to leadership.

Quite a lot of the crap they promised to con the voter to get into power fades by the wayside when it's no longer relevant for keeping in power.

They all do it more or less and I'd expect nothing more than what happens when the LNP get back in, if that's at all possible, with the rise of the Greens and Teals. Looks like we're heading to minority government. If the Greens become the gatekeepers for legislation, God help us.

I'm not sure what the worse promise was that the ALP made at the last election that was obviously a lie but you can't go past the lowering power prices con, or maybe the RE net zero plan that is overly ambitious, or quite simply impossible.

The lawyers must have spent some time on this one before it was released. I think the Dan Andrews car accident issue is still in the courts. I wonder if Bob Erwin will say he's going to sue again? Just more good publicity for him and Bluey I think.

Just as the national conversation was moving on from his $4.3 million Central Coast ‘weekender’ there’s a new problem brewing for Albo, one that goes beyond what he does with his own money.

On Saturday, extracts from a new book revealed that in the past 15 years the Prime Minister has received tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of free airline upgrades from Qantas.

The book The Chairman’s Lounge by Joe Aston also claims that “according to Qantas insiders”, the Marrickville man-of-the people “would liaise with (Alan) Joyce directly about his personal travel.”

That politicians get special treatment from airlines is not exactly a state secret of course but it turns out that Albo’s treatment is very special indeed.

Aston writes that “(w) hile other Qantas executives could authorise “space available” upgrades in flight bookings, meaning an upgrade would occur only if there was an empty business or first class seat after check-in had closed, only Joyce could issue “confirmed” or guaranteed upgrades, the kind that Albanese was treated to.”

Why does this matter? Well for starters there’s small matter that for ten of the years Albo was getting thousands of bucks a year in free upgrades, he was either the transport or shadow transport minister.

I'm not sure how I feel about censorship of the internet. I mean, who has the absolute truth? It reminds me of when the NZ PM said during Covid that the government was the 'sole source of truth'. Really? It's not 1984. There's obviously some crap out there but if we have censorship it's a slippery slope to China.

I'm sort of for there being an age limit for kids accessing social media, as it can be pretty toxic, but what the hell are parents for? Maybe the genie is out of the bottle on that one.

Some people are pointing out that the age limit on the internet is really a back door to having mandatory digital ID for everyone.

Include me out.

Are we generally moving further towards big government and central control or is it just a phase by having Lefty state and federal governments? The Libs are even supporting the social media thing. Maybe this sort of thing has happened through history and the pendulum has swung Left, for now.
