You've obviously forgotten what happened 10-12years ago with the Liberals, yet suddenly they are doing a great job?

Actually all you uni basher would be well served to shut up, unless of course you want to provide everything for yourselves in 25-35years when you come up for retirement, because they are going to be the ones providing your pensions, and health care.
Heck, 20 years from now the pension won't exist, PBS well Little Johnny will do anything to apease the big corporate pharmas in the US.

And those thinking 9% compulsory super will be enough, well your more deluded than I could have possibly thought.

I am finally beating the taxation system at their own game. I no longer work full-time, given that up, it ain't worth it for the high levels of tax.

I now work part-time (casual rate-much higher) meaning I have to work less hours for more money.

I contribute to my super using the co-contribution scheme, this now gives me free money up to $1,500 per year.

I have also borrowed money from the bank to trade on the stock market and the interest is deducted off my taxable income.

Pretty smart, and I have almost eliminated the need to pay tax, execpt for the GST and hidden taxes which are unavoidable for most.

There is always a better way, just do a little research and play the same game the ATO does, but better!__________________

I have paid off my entire HECS debt, and for the rest who haven't then its up to them to pay it off or let the taxpayer to do the rest.

Pushbike don’t burn gasoline, pure saving and more other people pay indirect tax through fuel (as not all monies from fuel tax go to roads), the more push bike rider can laugh and even breath easy.

Compulsory uni fees?
Don’t go to uni, no uni no fee simple, do correspondence course instead.

Many good hackers get top security jobs with the banks to protect them, no uni degree needed here, just good skills.

Find it difficult to live here and maybe single female with childern?
Ask for asylum in Pakistan, Iraq or India or China.
One thing for sure, you will not have to worry about unemployment benefit or pension or Medicare, … , I think?

Super no way. It's a dead dog.
Self funded retiree is my ambition. So take the pension and give it to one of those uni bums who will need it.

You need to remember that John Howard and his government have created the successful business environment which makes it possible for you to increase your personal wealth on the stock market. You really can't have it lots of ways at once.

As an aside, would you have voted for Mark Latham at the last election by any chance? If so, how would you be feeling about that vote now? "Slime" etc etc don't even begin to be adequate adjectives.

It challenges Howard's management of a democracy, but criticises his acceptance of political free speech. A tad hypocritical one would think.

Pauline Hanson was no racist. Quite unqualified for politics but not a racist.

Well I guess it should be more than the 90's, going back to 1983 when Hawke came to power.

Well let’s start with Hewson, an economist who couldn't explain GST impact on candles on a birthday cake. He had no experience in politics but was elected leader after the 1990 election defeat.
After the recession Australia had to have, Hewson went on to lose the unlosable election. He stayed on after the election and survived a challenge if I remember from Howard, but he was undermined by Bishop, Costello and Downer. Eventually Downer replaced him in 1994?

Alexander Downer was a pathetic leader, and managed to lose more voters from the Liberals. His joke about wife bashing - Things that batter or something like that at an official function was inexcusable.
I think Downer was in charge for about 6-7months before Howard was elected.

Howard is a proven liar, back in the 80's he as treasurer covered up a large budget deficit. After Hawke's election win in 83 he contested the leadership and lost. Eventually be became leader after Peacock resigned and went onto lose the 1987 election.
By 1988 Howard was saying we were taking in to many Asian immigrants, gee sounds familiar and he has been opposed to involvement with Asia for a long time.

But suddenly now he realises we are in Asia and need Asia. He just capitalised on the work done by Keating in building relations in the region.
Hewson and Costello devised many of the economic reforms that he capitalised on as well as some of the reforms introduced by Labor. Much of the industrial reforms were part of Henson’s Fightback program back in 1994.

All Howard has done is capitalise on the situation, lying about children overboard, the reasons for going into Iraq. He has manipulated the system and the people to fit his own agenda on numerous occasions.

He has no integrity and I'm sure he'd do anything to stay in power.

As I see it, Labor is in the same situation as the Liberals in 1995. Labor has run very poor election campaigns in the last 2 elections and didn't deserve to win (although the did receive 50.1% of the votes in 2001)

As for super, the 15% super surcharge was done away to help the high-income earners, but nothing in the media. Sure the co-contribution is good, but most low-middle income earners can't save the money to do it.

And if Pauline Hanson was no racist, I won't try to convince you otherwise as I’d only be wasting my time. Howard never once condemned her policy or speeches because secretly he shared the same views and has since at least the 1980's but probably longer privately.
