Hi there,
I've been reading this book by Katiforis & Macris, in which they explain in impressive detail some investment strategies for options. The ones that interest me are 'share replacement' (buying long term in the money call options of 3-9 months or more), 'covered calls' (with roll backs and so on), and 'high yield covered calls' (using covered calls based on the long term options).

The book is impressive in the in-depth explanations of the strategies (at least for me, obviously a newbie in this area), without going into the actual 'how to' that would allow the reader to actually just do one of these trades - which is probably fortunate (!).

The website that was supposed to support the book does not seem to be extant, which is rather foreboding - did the authors go bust? Has anyone heard of the authors (the book is quite technical, not written in spruiker's style and their bios seem respectable)?

So I'd like to ask the experts here in general terms whether my very brief explanations of the strategies seem viable/commonly used/terribly risky?

If anyone is still lurking around this topic, would be happy to comment.

...if any interest?
