With the background of the poisonous stark raving insanity of Donald Trumps insistence "he wuz robbed in 2020" the Republician Partry in Michigan comes out with this report.

The Michigan Republican report released on Wednesday followed 28 hours of legislative hearings starring local and national pro-Trump conspiracy theorists such as former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani. The report labeled many of their claims “ludicrous” and called on the state Democratic attorney general to open investigations into those who may have profited from making false claims.

The report was authored by the Republican-controlled senate oversight committee and it said it found no evidence of dead voters, no precincts with 100% turnout and no evidence of a Detroit ballot dump that benefited Biden, as GOP activists have claimed occurred.

“There is no evidence presented at this time to prove either significant acts of fraud or that an organized, wide-scale effort to commit fraudulent activity was perpetrated in order to subvert the will of Michigan voters,” the report reads.

Nonetheless because of the power Trump still exerts over the Republician Party to bend reality into whatever shape suits him ...

...the report rebukes the conspiracy theories, the investigation found “glaring issues that must be addressed” in state election law, and the party is still pushing forward with a package of 39 controversial voting restrictions that it plans to ram through using a constitutional loophole that can bypass the veto of the Democrat governor, Gretchen Whitmer.

Two young children now face life without their mum and dad after the couple were killed during a “horrific” attack following a “very minor” car accident.

The tragic incident occurred as Yasmin Perez, 23, and her partner Gyovanny Arzuaga, 24, were leaving a Puerto Rican Day parade in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighbourhood on Saturday night (local time).

Graphic CCTV footage shows a group of several men drag Ms Perez out of the driver’s seat of her car before beating and shooting her.

Mr Arzuaga can be seen crawling on top of the mother of his children in an effort to shield her before being shot and killed by a gunman in a white tank top.
Mr Arzuaga died soon after but Yasmin was rushed to hospital, where she died on Tuesday (local time).

How the new Texas law works. Doctors, family members, insurance companies, even Uber drivers, are all at risk if they help a woman in need. And the risk is magnified by the offer of a big fat financial reward for whoever successfully nabs a person guilty of facilitating an abortion once a heartbeat can be detected, typically six weeks after a woman’s last period, well before most women even know they are pregnant. There is not even an exception for pregnancies resulting from rape or incest. No law remotely like this has ever been allowed to go into effect.

The prospect of hefty bounties will breed a system of profit-seeking, Soviet-style informing on friends and neighbors. These vigilantes will sue medical distributors of IUDs and morning-after pills, as well as insurance companies. These companies, in turn, will stop offering reproductive healthcare in Texas. As of a minute before midnight on 31 August, clinics in Texas were already turning patients away out of fear. Even if the law is eventually struck down, many will probably close anyway.

Worse still, if women try to escape the state to access abortion services, their families will be on the hook for offering even the smallest aid. If friends or family of a woman hoping to terminate her pregnancy drive her across state lines, or help her organize money for a plane or bus ticket, they could be liable for “aiding and abetting” a now-banned abortion, even if the procedure itself takes place outside Texas.

Adding insult to injury, if a young woman asks for money for a bus ticket, or a ride to the airport, friends and parents fearful of liability might vigorously interrogate her about her intentions. This nightmarish state of affairs burdens yet another fundamental constitutional privilege: the right to interstate travel, recognized by the supreme court in 1999 as a core privilege of federal citizenship. Didn't the US have obscenely late termination options?

Past a certain number of weeks should be off the table. Up to 6 weeks still seems available in Texas. Abortion should not be viewed as another form of contraception. But rather an unpalatable position that it never should have got to.

The pill, Morning after pill, Condoms, implants or whatever else are options.
I was unaware that they could Abort before 6 weeks to tell you the truth.
But passing a certain number of weeks is essentially killing imo. Should not be viewed as an easy option.

I think the majority of abortion was carried out at 13 weeks and under (91%is 2015). I think for most it's not a light decision.
6 weeks and under might be difficult from a medical point of view. I'm not sure, but I thought most did it from 8 weeks. I don't think 6 is workable.

I'm not 100% on this but from memory they found there was a drop in neglected children and incarceration when abortion became available.

I don't subscribe to the "your body your choice" once it moves past a certain number of weeks (with exception to medical problems).

The whole thing is a complex problem.

You have to wonder if there is a political slant here to scare Democrats from the state.

The thing is, at what point does the child have a choice? (On that, I have no idea, but surely there is a point?)

There is a detailed outline of the range of current abortion law requirements across all US States. Latest time for an abortion is 20-24 weeks.
The Texas "6 weeks" proposal is meaningless. Because the current Federal Law allows abortions they are simply making it impossible.

Encouraging every one to sue any person who offers any assistance in any way to a women seeking an abortion is considered "brilliancy".

It would interesting to hear how many politicians in the US have been directly involved with abortions. Ex girl friends, partners, secret lovers, casual xxxxs. Daughters in trouble. Friends daughters in trouble. Realistically it will be plenty.

A judge in the US state of Texas has found Infowars host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones liable for damages in three defamation lawsuits brought by the parents of two children killed in the Sandy Hook school massacre.

Key points:​

• The judge ruled against Jones for failing to turn over critical documents in the case
• Alex Jones's lawyers argue his comments are protected by free speech laws
• Courts have ruled against Jones in previous cases for refusing to provide witnesses and documents

Jones had claimed several times on his talk show the mass shooting was a "hoax".
Judge Maya Guerra Gamble entered default judgments against Jones, Infowars and other defendants for what she called their "flagrant bad faith and callous disregard" of court orders to turn over documents to the parents' lawyers.
The rulings were issued on Monday and released on Thursday.
The cases now head to trial for juries to determine the amount of damages Jones and the other defendants will have to pay the families.

You only have to go to New Zealand, to realise the difference. The wife and I never stopped saying, "you wouldn't be able to this in Australia", "they would have to have a guard rail here, if it was in Australia". The differences were quite marked and in France, Spain etc it is more so.
In W.A a person pulled out of a side road onto a main highway and was struck by a truck, now at that intersection there is an 80klm speed limit, yet there are several other major side roads and service stations on the side of the highway and no reduced speed limits.
