We are travelling to a range of countries in August / September.
Any thoughts on where to get the best deal in obtaining some cash before we leave?
[Baht, Roubles, Euros, UK Pounds, US$.]
Many thanks
Rick

i find it easiset to get money out at the airport via an ATM. That way i am not carrying around large amounts of different currencies. I dont know if this is the cheapest or best way, but it is convenient for me.

Thanks. I generally do this once we're settled but didn't want to go searching for an ATM at an airport on arrival.

I've found my bank in Aus gives me good rates. I just get 100-200 dollars of each before I go. Have fun on your round the world :)

So - I went to my friendly ANZ bank where I was told, "Our rates are not very competitive. Why don't you go to the PO where they charge no commission?"

Obligingly I went to the PO. No commission, higher rates, meaning the same overall exchange cost as the ANZ.

Then the PO said they were too busy to take an order [there was a long queue] and could I come back later?

Oh well...
