NSW drivers have 1 more point to lose or 2 if professional driver

In other words really good drivers who do not lose any points are not rewarded, say except have bigger buffer before have to surrender driver’s license.

Actually I would not mind if zero points could give some ease on whatever payments, be it license, rego or whatever.

As it turns out, medium-bad drivers get the benefit of new system.
Otherwise we would have more drivers driving without the license, after all this offence rose few 1,000% since several years ago.

More likely they wanted to slug people with one more fine and cash in a bit more. Cram it with walnuts NSW state govt

it will be handy having 2 more points & the reward is there for everyone which should of happened years ago.

i reckon professional drivers should have 12 points each for car & truck but it wont happen as RTA think its a licence to speed.

all drivers have to contend with new technology that wasnt around when the system was first introduced,such as speed/red light cameras,mobile cameras, & the HWP hiding in the bushes raising $$$ for the gubmint!

also at present you only get 11 points not 12.

What difference does it make if they hide or not?
(I am embarrassed to say how many years I did not pay single fine including parking tickets and nobody would believe me either, so lets say I did not pay any ticket yet this year – which for circle of people I know is achievement enough).

What gets me is constant speed changes: 40/50, 40/60, 40/70 in school zones (did not see one 40/80 yet)
And within few kilometres it can be 50, 60, 70, 80, 100 sometimes more than once.

My problem is that if I get too tired, I just don’t remember what speed was last and sometimes large vehicles can obstruct the view and YES it is possible to not see the current speed limit.

happy...hiding is against the standard operating procedures for the use of their equipment the radar/lidar.
it indicates the purpose of revenue raising rather than enforcement,not allowed to operate the lidar inside the vehicle & on a hill but they do.

Yes, not happy about that, but all I do is laugh if I spot them.

They can jump, as far as I am concerned.

It takes me twice as long or just about that compared to what my family or friends can do, but that and some bad cases of tailgating is the price I pay.

Others pay fines, and not happy about that, but it is their choice to some extent.

In NSW drivers without points in the last three years get reduced Third Party insurance. The insurance companies often don't offer it. You have to ask for it. By delaying "bookwork" the three years is stretched out to three years and six months. You also can get a discount on your comprehensive insurance with a clean licence but you have to ask for it.
