Good morning everyone and welcome to the November 2023 stock tipping competition entry thread! :)

A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

2. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

3. Either before or after posting your entry and before the deadline for entries you must post in the forum thread of the stock you have entered providing either a general update or a view on why you think the share price is going to increase in the short term.

4. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between the close of trading on 31 October (entry price) and the close of trading on 30 November.

5. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The entry price for all entries is the closing price on the last trading day of this month.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Tuesday, 31 October to enter. However, in practice entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason.

Best of luck to all entrants! :xyxthumbs

Hi Joe

I would like to submit NGL for the monthly competition. It is a robotic aerial security solution that has some blue chip customers and exciting technology behind it. The co-founders have a pretty successful track record in Silicon Valley, and one of them is a former SpaceX engineer with a PhD in rocket science.

I have made a corresponding post in the forum thread with my more detailed views.

Cheers,
v

@Joe Blow , there should be some sort of minor prize for the first ASF member to post a pick in a monthly competition. @verce has really gone out on a limb early.
Mick

There are some advantages to entering early, such as being certain of getting the stock you want. Also, if you pick the same stock every month - as some do - then it doesn't really matter when you enter. ;)

Also, in the interests of accuracy.

There were 3 entries on the first day (20 September) for the current month's comp.

Re the NGL entrant
I Like her as an ACCUMULATOR but at $6,500 per day I wonder if she QUALIFIES? at this time

Good evening Joe Blow. Since I joined into the monthly comp I have given my choices the kiss of death. So being a creature of variable habit I will stick with LTR once again thankyou. It can't get much lower on the table than it is now !!!.

Hi @Joe Blow

Don't know if this is an easy fix or not but I thought I'd ask.

In the Competition Ladder you must have the column Change in % cells formatted as General.
Is there any possibility to change that to Number format? (Naturally with 2 decimal places).

I thought it would be a visual improvement for the viewer :xyxthumbs and also, it would save me converting it every time I update the spreadsheets .

Not worried about Entry Price & Gain/Loss columns as I understand adjustments are made such as dividends and it might have 6/7 decimal points to display correctly.

Thanks Joe for your time.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure how to do this, but would be interested in knowing how it would look different with the Number format. I'm not familiar with the different formats.

Fair enough Joe, thanks anyway. I just thought it would look better with all number having 2 decimal points rather than some with 2 and some with 1 or none.
