NinjaTrader vs. AmiBroker

Hi Traders,

I already have NT (NT direct, a free version, is included with my AMP futures account). I haven't had success in having it scan ASX stocks for criteria, though. I'm suspicious of Yahoo EOD data.

I'm considering Amibroker instead.

Should I pay up for Amibroker (and then a data feed), when I already have NT? Would I do as well to stick with NT but pay for data? Or, is there a better, comparable option?

I don't want to spend money unduly but I would like to set up software to successfully scan ASX stocks. Thanks for considering my quandary,

Good question. Personally i've not seen anyway to use NT usefully to scan ASX stocks for anything. I use NT for Volume Profile on US Stocks and Futures. I still however use Amibroker for scanning US and ASX Stocks (i don't really do anything with the ASX stocks other than for friends) as its fast, easy to use for scans and eyeballing...The EOD data i use is Premium Data for Amibroker. I use Kinetick for US Stocks, CQG for Futures.

I think they're both good platforms. But i'm just an old fuddy dud stuck in my ways.

Thanks. I think I'll go the same way. I guess I had higher hopes for Market Analyzer than it's realistically capable of.

You have to set up the analyzer properly for NT7. But it all comes down to "OnBarUpDate".

I have a guide on my site on how to use / setup the Analyzer but you wont get the signal until 10.20 - 10.40 when the share has traded and you get your first tick. Then the new bar will appear and the old bar will update producing the signal.

How do you find CQG for reliability?
