Hey guys :)

I'm really new to the market and I noticed something odd (well, it looks odd to me!) with a couple of companies I'm looking at, NTU and LYC. The sell prices are both considerably lower than the buy prices.

With LYC, it's almost double the difference, buying at 1.6 and selling at .89. Is it some sort of market manipulation?

Thanks :)

That's normal in pre open, people placing low sell and high buy prices to ensure they get filled at market open. They won't actually trade at those prices but at the open match price.

Cheers

I smile every time I see a thread about pre-open auctions... is it possible to keep count of how many of these we get in a year?

It can be a competition at the start of the year to see who guess the closest number...

Hetty - not having a go at you - always good to ask the dumb questions. Welcome to the forum :)

Haha, it's okay. I'm on other forums and have a laugh about similar issues. Sorry, I should have done a search! I just wasn't really sure about what to search for.
