Thinking of putting a few k into stock but have no idea where to start learning. Any helpful links or suggestions for someone starting out?

Assuming your only trading stocks and on the ASX. https://www.cmcmarketsstockbroking.com.au is a cheap online broker. If your not comfortable trading individual stocks then buy an Exchange Traded Fund, Managed Fund, Index or Listed Investment Company
