Need email account which can be configured with Outook

Hi all ,

Can anyone help please?

My current Email provider has decided to start charging so I am on the lookout for a new free provider.

I would like to configure it to Outlook where I can receive AND SEND emails from Outlook.

My last email provider didn't allow me to send through Outlook. I'm not sure whether its an ISP thing or not.

Gmail works with Outlook Express. Haven't tried Outlook, but probably does with that too.

I was looking for config with Outlook. I think Outlook tends to pose some problems...or at least free email accounts do. I believe Outlook Express in fine. I think the best thing will be for me to pay for my own domain...at least that way I'm in control.

Problems may lie with Outlook 2007 on the change from Outlook 2003.
Check settings are correct, otherwise there may be problems with outgoing email:

Click-on "Outgoing Servers"
Select "My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication"
Click-on "Use same settings as my incoming mail service"
Click-on "Advanced Tab"
and in the "Outgoing (SMPT)" box, change the number No "587" for SMPT. IMAP should be set for "143".

I think the best thing will be for me to pay for my own domain...at least that way I'm in control.

I agree with you here. Domains cost a mere $10 a year for the registration fee. Most registrars offer free email or email for a minimal cost.

By having your own domain name you don't just have one email address you have hundreds (potentially).

Definitely the best option in my opinion.

Your ISP should provide free email addresses Pommiegranite, which you will be able to use outlook with.
