Music conversion program

Hi guys!
Do any of you know a safe and reliable program for converting downloaded tunes (eg wma) into mp3 format, so i can import them to my ipod?
Id rather not use itunes because it sucks ass

If you need a media organiser, it doesn't get much better than MediaMonkey.
It syncs to Ipods AOK, converts files and just makes your whole library a cinch to manage and filter against. Go and take a look

Also have a look at DBPowerAmp. I found it to be the most comprehensive.
