Missing Colonial Shares

My wife, Marjorie Susan Kerr, was issued with 228 shares from Colonial on 16 December 1996. We have an 'Issue Sponsored Holding Statement' dated 30 May 1997 showing these shares and a Registry Reference Number. We have over the years tried to trace these shares without success. We know that the company was floated on the Australian Stock Market and has changed hands a few times. Looking at other posts it appears they are now CBA shares. We have always lived in England and have not changed address since the shares were issued. Any information gratefully accepted.
