McAfee promo email disappeared!

Howdy all

Received a promotional offer for my McAfee renewal with a nice discount but their link didn't work. Rang them and was told to wait a few days, try link again.
Was going to try again today but the EMAIL HAS DISAPPEARED (hotmail).
Is that possible?

I rang 2 different sections of their (McAfee) call centre but they were as helpful as a "chocolate teapot".

Has anyone else had something similar or can anyone out there explain about the disappearing email? No I didn't delete it

Probably wrong answer, but I've got warning regarding anti virus reminders that they can come from spammers who are behind the latest global fear:
Conficker worm

As to disappearing E-mail, could be removed by E-mail provider's spam filter, but strangely you were able to see it before.
Maybe warning came later.

Just speculating.

It is possible to delete email sent even after you have read it. The sender can Set Up a system similar to that operated by google mail (operates for AOL, Yahoo and Hotmail) allows your emails or even a specific email to be imported to them.
Doing this without your knowledge takes a bit of know how but I guess some have the expertise to do this. McAfee have links in sales of their software with AOL.
