Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the May 2018 stock tipping competition entry thread! :)

Folks, before I get started this month I want to discuss another matter with you. ASF needs more posts in stock threads. You may have noticed that there has been a distinct lack of them in recent times. It has become a real problem and I am reaching out to you for some assistance. I assume that those who enter this competition follow various ASX listed stocks. If you notice some significant price movement, an announcement of importance, or even if you have a question or general observation, can you please post about it in the thread on that particular stock?

If posts in stock threads continues to decline then not only will this competition be at risk, but so will ASF generally. So if you could take the time to post in some stock threads I would really appreciate it. It will help and it is something that won't take much of your time. So please consider lending a hand and doing what you can to increase the amount of discussion on individual stocks here at ASF. Thanks! :)

Now, back to the competition...

This month's competition is proudly sponsored by Pepperstone - The World's Leading Forex Broker.

Pepperstone is an Online Forex (FX) Trading Broker, providing traders across the globe with cutting edge forex trading technology to offer unmatched top tier liquidity, institutional grade spreads and the security of tight financial regulation. Pepperstone offers online forex trading through multiple forex trading platforms, including Metatrader 4, Webtrader and Apps for iPhone and Android.

A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

2. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

3. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between May 1 and May 31.

4. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Monday, April 30 to enter. However, in practice, entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason.

Best of luck to all entrants! :D

Please don't forget to post a brief reason explaining why you chose your competition entry (or better yet, post about it in the thread on that stock!). One or two sentences is enough (feel free to add a chart if your reason is TA based). If your entry is the same as the previous month and the reason for choosing it is the same then feel free to just post the same explanation again. Thank you! :)

Hi, first ever post here.

88E for me Joe,

It's looking as though things are starting to happen again with the weather warming up in the arctic, and hopefully within the month there will be some good news on icewine#2, cheers

EUR thanks Joe.

There's nothing with any substance to report other than it looks oversold to me. Cheers.

SEA for me, thanks Joe.

Recent capital raising has caused the stock to tumble in price by around 50% to around the raising price. The fundamentals have the company valued at more than the original value per share, and compared to peers based on fundamentals the company is now worth multiples of the current price. Price of oil currently on a strong uptrend - currently nudging $70, with several brokers recently putting out price targets on SEA after the new aquisitions following the captial raising, all over 20c (around 400-500% gain relative to current price) and based on an oil price of around $55. Unlikely to see anything like that as early as May, but if the glut of new shares fails to clear by the end of this month and does clear during May, and the uptrend in oil continues, hopefully it will be enough to win next month.

Hi Joe
Before giving up I am repeating SFI for May as well.
Thanks

Welcome Punter101 for your virgin posting on ASF :) All the best

WEC White Energy - thanks Joe

Court case in Singapore and Mountainside Asset sales may save White Energy. Some of the most successful directors in the coal business reduced from overarm to underarm in the business.

I'll take Golden Mile Resources (G88) this month thanks. Drilling results are due soon and expectations are high.

Will try to post more in stock threads. Australia needs an alternative to HC and I hope others support ASF as well.

BSM for me,
I’m new to the SM but think this large flake graphite miner is going to be in a good position when demand increases.

EVN this month thanks Joe.
No particular reason 'cept it's been on the up lately.

FAR

Given CNE are saying JUNE 2018 the exploitation plan will be delivered in June....who else believes this may be the time CNE announce it as commercial, book reserves and the government start paying for their share."

Joe,
I'm going to have a go with a Cobalt stock - Cobalt Blue Holdings Ltd(COB).
Thanks.

AHZ -Admedus. Not that I expect May to be anything particularly dramatic, but methinks there's been a switch in market sentiment from sceptical to favourable in recent times.
Thanks Joe.

STA - Strandline - sands play with RIO tie ups already in place....just needs the licence box ticked...will it be ticked soon enough for this?
