U.S. hands over Viagra pills to Afghan warlords in return for vital Taliban intelligence

CIA agents have come up with a potent new weapon in the war in Afghanistan.

Instead of giving local chieftains cash or guns for information about the Taliban, they are supplying them with Viagra.

The anti-impotency drugs are said to have worked wonders for ageing tribal chiefs, many of whom have much younger wives.

They have greeted returning agents with a mass of information about Taliban movements and supply routes - and a request for more of the little blue pills.

In a country where corruption is rife, offering bribes has been standard practice for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency since the war began in 2001. Agents say warlords and tribal leaders expect to be paid for their co-operation.

School equipment, toys, medicine and even dental care have been offered in return for intelligence on enemy forces.

Cash or weapons were also popular but these often attracted attention from the Taliban, who exacted revenge on villagers for helping coalition troops.

'If you give somebody $1,000, he'll go out and buy the shiniest junk he can find, and it will be apparent that he has suddenly come into a lot of money from someone,' said Jamie Smith, a veteran of CIA covert operations in Afghanistan.

'Even if he doesn't get killed, he becomes ineffective as an informant because everyone knows where he got it.'

Mr Smith added: 'You're trying to bridge a gap between people living in the 18th century and people coming in from the 21st century.

'So you look for those common things that motivate people everywhere.'

Which is why CIA field agents turned to Viagra. The drug has been available in the Afghan capital Kabul since 2003, five years after it first became available in the UK.

But the diamond-shaped pills are virtually unknown in many remote villages.

One CIA agent told the Washington Post newspaper the drug was offered only to elderly tribal leaders. Many have the four wives allowed by the Koran, and are persuaded that Viagra will 'put them back in an authoritative position', said the agent.

They are all given health checks, to make sure the new excitement will not prove too much for them and turn their families against the U.S.-led coalition.

Think of all the lives that get saved and bad guys that get killed all for a few dollars worth of pills - bargain!
 
How can you equate a few pills to the mental stability of youngsters? The US had better have money aside for counselling, psychologist and medical treatment. Of course they won't, they never take responsibility of the ruined lives they iinstigate.

This world is a revolting place at times. I would have thought it was obvious that child brides to elders were wrong. The pain of sex is enough to tell the rapist (sorry husband) it is wrong, do they care - No - too busy pleasing themselves. If they are that devoid of conscious for their "wife" no wonder we face a serious enemy.

I understand were live in different cultures though it is like living in a time warp.

I still reckon that the hairy arsed elders who take the pills are more culpable than the guys who provide them.

In war it is fair to work on the enemies weakness.

If the Afghans can't get it up and they pay with information and fielty for Viagra , I see no wrong.

What they do thereafter is a moral conundrum for them, not the enlightened West.

Rooting women might seem glorious for some men BUT the chaffing and pain to women can be unbearable - some may be high on opium to forget the act. On waking the pain of raw tissue is acute.

You really are callous in your view of women.

I suppose if you had female anatomy and had to endure some guy getting off for hours without coming you might have a different view.

But then some men don't give a **** what a woman / girl goes through.

They probably didn't know about viagra or what it would do before being offered.

The US army can be primeval when it comes to extracting information.

But base human instinct is always an easy tease. Now when the US leave with their new fun chemical what happens to the sods that have become addicted to it?

My point was that a story was introduced about viagra in afghanistan and you guys made out it was something else, ie American sponsored peadophillia or something- Viagra is a common medication for impotence across the world, these Warlords apparently have 4 wives, I always figured Females had sexual desires/needs/wants (from past experience anyway) maybe I am wrong ? maybe Afghans warlords with 4 wives are different to the rest ?

I began this about chidbrides, Many who are RAPED and documented.

Have you had Viagra??? I know of some guys that 'played around' with it and just wanted to root, couldn't climax, did not involve myself.

Sure females have sexual desires, lets try cuddles, kisses, foreplay, playing, and loving consensual sex- the men I know love this too. - but if you just root a women I can guarantee the resentment will build from her. Perhaps some are more willing to voice their opinions than others.

Due to their culture they expected to be subservient. Like anyone they don't know any better or obtaining help unless they are aware of it.

So I understand that you agree with a 9, 10 ,11 year girl going through this F... for hours just to please her Husband?

Yes the US have a role to play in this instance. The carrot had to come from somewhere. Many other alternatives but they chose the easy one.
