I am a software developer and my recent interest in share trading got me wondering about where software developers both big and small get their data about the current state of the market when writing programs?
Does the ASX have some sort of API that people can use or is the data coming from other companies?
Can you get access to historic prices and traded volumes or when software features this sort of information is it from a large database they are keeping themselves?
