Hi ALL.

I'm hoping to hear from MarketAnalyst users that are using V6 and or have insight into V7 which is meant to have chart patterns search.

I beleive both focuses on Fibonacci & Gann theories which are of Interest to me, and suprised their isnt more threads on their product.

I hope to choose IB as a broker and plan to also use live data module that they provide if you subscribe to their $49p/m fee.

So happy to hear from IB users that use MA6-GA and even the level of support you get from MA???

The product is developed around Internet Explorer & trial of Gann Analyst Edition ($2495) seems to work fine with expiry day soon to end. The also have a Professional edition at $1495 & Gann Analyst with Astro at $3495 which are all fairly pricy but if these products are all stable and they do what they say without all the mucking around to get them to work, then thats the direction I'm leaning towards.

Seen a lot of AMIBroker users here but dont want all the mucking around to get all the Fib & Gann Tools to do what MA does out of the box, esp because AMI seems lite on official support even if AMI is much cheaper, hence would like this thread to stay focussed on Market Analyst.

Unless there's another product the does all the Fib & Gann stuff plus more at a more attractive price point.

Thanks kindly

I have used MA6 before when is was leased (no initial purchase) - Gann version and trialed astronomical version. I only had it for a few months to export their historical data into excel.

I found the astro version of no benefit, IMO i think you would need a very strong knowledge of astrology before touching that version otherwise you will not know what to do with it. I wouldn't spend an extra $1000 for the astro module.

Looking at their website there is a license fee after the first year of $49 per month which gives you EOD for your region.

If you do get MA the professional version should be ok to start with - esp if you are just starting to trade. When i used it there was swing charts, swing overlays, basic gann fans, time by solar degrees and fib retracment tools in professional edition.

The only extra things in Gann version that i used was squares (144,52, custom squares) and square of nine calc - I think you need to be able to trade of swing charts and bar/candle patterns before you use those two tools succesfully. But check the features list as i havn't used it for about a year now.

So what made you move away from it and what did you move too.?

Yes the still have the subscription model, with $299 upfront but they squeeze another $500

Is $2490 reasonable for what you get or is there something you found better?

I forgot about Gann Analyst. I'd try Gannanalyst first as its free - especially if the IB data can be used with it. I tried Gann Analyst after using MA6 and found it to be pretty good...especially as its free.

There were actually two reasons I used MA6. Firstly to get back data to export into excel and secondly to print wall charts. I wanted to print out large charts from MA6 and glue on gann type chart paper to keep them updated. I found the wall charts in MA6 too difficult to set up to match the Gann chart paper so i stoped using MA6.

I currently have Profitsource with Gann module - got it about month ago. I got it for a good price as i have done training with them before. It prints out the large wall charts properly so you can use the plastic overlays in the gann commodity & stock courses.

I think if you can get the data you need into Gannanalyst, it will be decent program to use.

Hi Tek,

Don't you use Amibroker? What is the difference between this product and Amibroker?

John

Thanks for GannAnalyst Guys.

It looks quite good and data (justdata) rates are comparable, so will look into that further

Had a look at Ami John, and seems to be a great product but what one has to do to get all the add-ons and the data seems to be a lot more mucking around.

From what I know the trial doesnt allow the add-ons, and it doesnt seem as intuititive, but havent ruled it out just yet.

Also open to hear what you guys are using and what advantages it has over these products.?

Thanks
