Interesting story in todays paper on a news item carried by Channel 7. Apparently they led a news story saying that a rioter who had attached a Bob Jane shop in Oakleigh had abused the camera man outside the court.

Turns out what actually happened was that camera man had been sticking a camera in the face of the young man and his father for quite a long period of time. The father had repeatedly asked them to stop filming (25 times) but it continued. The cameramen were finally abusive to the father and son and then called the father a "xxxxing terrorist."

At this stage (surprise, surprise ...) the father saw red and the camera team got their shot for the news of an angry Muslim.

The incident was shown in full on Media watch. It demonstrates just how dishonest the media can be when they want to set up individuals and groups in the community.

You are absolutely correct. I remember that incident when it happened. I am sure it was well over a year ago. Its staple journalism for the ACA, TT and 60 Minutes type programs.

Should have done a Mark Latham.
Seriously, there has to be a line which the cameraman can cross which makes his actions either an assault or acute harassment.

And then you should have the legal right to smash him to a pulp.
