The sharemarket is now not the same as it was.

Have the rules changed because of current day market situation? I think not.

Irregardless of what the sharemarket is doing, either soaring or diving, the basics remain the same.

You still have to do your research, both fundamental and technical analysis as before. You still have to minimise those potential losses by using stop losses.

The only thing that has changed is that we now have blue chip companies going for far cheaper than they were six months ago.But you still need to research them.

Just take RIO and OZL who are now having liquidity problems. It goes to show that even big companies are not immune from severe downturns. So there are no guarantees in the stockmarket.

The only thing that always stays the same is your basic rules of trading.

:)

Yeah, so am I. Been looking towards 2009 since the beginning of the year now.

Looking forward to a sunny really hot day so I can drive to the beach for a surf!

Sturdy, i think you need to hedge your position. not using stop loss, as it only guarantee your losses.

how about buying insurance along with the shares that you are expecting to go up, after you have done your analysis ? it will brings up your breakeven point, but it will be worth it.

would you rather take a loss, or have an insurance with it ? it is your choice.
