Hello

A question to all those that consider themselves to be a successful share investor/trader.

What have been the most important lessons you have learnt during your experience investing/trading shares?

Thanks.

..don't get too greedy...lesson number 1.. (then devise a trading plan...stick to it..)

..dont tell the wife how much money you have invested...use the simple equation:

MONEYINVESTED(WIFE)=ACTUAL MONEY INVESTED/100*A

A=50..or is varied by beer consumption prior to calculation.

Here Here! Couldn't agree more, except in my case its a Long Term Girlfriend and my A is varied by Wine Consumption, however Scotch and Vodka are acceptable substitutes :D

1 - diversify your portfolio

2 - don't buy a stock which has made its move, in other words buy when its down not when its up unless there are strong fundamentals behind it

best lesson i have learnt is to not overlook companies because of their current sp. in the beginning i was trying to find ten-baggers and in the process overlooked companies which were a lot cheaper than when i eventually bought into them.

Have a trading plan (or plans) with a positive expectancy and stick to it/them.

Two actually

1: Don't waste time trying to learn about markets --- Learn to TRADE !

2: Don't hold any opinion about a share -- just TRADE the SP

Cheers
