Hi All,

Well I have done some stock screening, checked the fundamentals, looked to see if there are any funnies out there and have come up with the following stocks! (Friday pick for Monday Trade).

My question is would anyone agree with my selection???? (I do not intend trading them they are my last paper trade before I take the plunge). I would appreciate anyones comments / grading on my selections.

And the stocks are.......

COA
TWR
HIG
VPG

I think that depends on your trading intentions. I have traded all those stocks before, although don't currently hold any of them.

My thoughts on them at this moment, from a purely technical view point and based on short-term trades, are:

COA: a possible trade here. It looks like it's started another short-term uptrend, although based on its recent history, it may not go a long way before turning down again. However, if it does manage to push on up through $5.40, it could be a real goer.

TWR: this one has already jumped up quite a bit in the last few days, which would not make it my ideal entry time. And it's getting close to its all-time high back in November, which might see some resistance to push through. My longer-term trend line is around $1.85 to $1.90, so personally I'd wait a bit to see if it drops back below $2 before entering.

HIG: similar argument to TWR. It's just shot up to its high of last October, which would not make it my ideal entry point. I'd be looking for an entry more around 50 cents.

VPG: this is a property group, which makes it a slow mover. It's pushed up to new highs just recently after a fairly flat period, but still looks a bit indecisive to me. I wouldn't rate the chances of a good move up from here very highly.

These are just my own thoughts and interpretations, and should not be construed as any sort of advice. I could be totally wrong (and knowing me, probably will be :D).

Cheers,
GP

Thanks for the feedback Oh GreatPig!

Allright, I am on holidays at the moments and am trying to tighten up my stock selkection strategies. Looking back at my last picks they were a little iffy!

Based on my analysis of the last couple of days I now have reason to believe the following stocks are indicating they MAY move in an upwards direction!

RIC - Bullish Trend, DMI positive, Williams %R positive & Price & Volume Trend positive.

PMP - Bullish Trend, ITA positive, MACD positive, CCI positive, DMI positive, BCI positive, ROC positive, Williams %R positive, OBV positive, PVT positive & Equivolume positive.

GNS - Bullish Trend MA Crossover

I would appreciate anyone/everyones comments on my logic here. As a novice I would appreciate the feedback if I am on the right track or off with the klingons!

Hi Bronte,

Excuse my ignornace are you saying the 21st Sept maturity date for futures will make the market gaga for a week or so? And stay away due to volatility??

Clearly I do not know enough if I was not taking this into consideration!!!!!

Or are they just dates that may have no impact??? (addition)

Hi Bronte,

Not withstanding the accuracy or otherwise of your predictions, this is a bit close to giving stockmarket advise IMO. We really need to be careful in this area because of ASIC rules.

(Just moderator stuff, nothing personal OK!)

Cheers
