This is from the BBC.

Apparently Kim Jong Il, the brassy dictator of N Korea continues to have his lackies pose him as being hale and hearty. But he's not.

'Fake photo' revives Kim rumours

There is fresh speculation about the health of North Korea's "Dear Leader" Kim Jong-il, amid suggestions that an image of Mr Kim may have been doctored.

The image, released on Wednesday, appeared to show Mr Kim in good health while inspecting two military units.

But an analysis by the UK's Times newspaper highlighted incongruities around the leader's legs, and the BBC found what look like mismatched pixels.

It has given new life to suggestions Mr Kim may be seriously unwell.

"They go into ostrich mode so readily - because they have given no clue about what would happen without him," North Korea expert Dr Aidan Foster-Carter told the BBC.

Unlike the previous handover of power from the Great Leader Kim Il-sung to his son - which was planned and made public decades in advance - there has been no public announcement about who will succeed Kim Jong-il, 66.

Anywhere we can see the full photo?

It was intended to be the photograph that settled the matter once and for all ”” three months after vanishing from public view, and after reports that he had undergone brain surgery following a stroke, the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Il, was alive and well.

But a close look reveals something shady around the ankles of the world’s last Cold War dictator.

While the legs of his soldiers cast a shadow at a sharp angle, the shadow of the “Dear Leader” is dead straight. In addition, there is a black line running horizontally behind the soldiers’ legs, but it mysteriously disappears behind Mr Kim.

Rather than a genuine photograph, there were growing suspicions last night that the image released by the North Korean authorities may possibly be the result of digital trickery. Yesterday the state-controlled North Korean media announced that Mr Kim had attended a musical performance at which he “waved back to the cheering performers and congratulated them on their presentation”. The photographs were first presented the day before ”” and together they eroded the consensus among North Korea watchers that the leader of the world’s most unpredictable nuclear power had suffered a serious health problem over the past few months

This is a close up of the dear leader , note no wide shadow off his blessed leg and the absence of the dark line on the step behind him.

I'm off to Seoul soon and hope to ask the N Koreans at Panmunjon as to what is actually happening up north.

Good ####ing riddance!

Long odds chance at reunification in the next two decades IMO.

Absolutely p1ssed ourselves laughing here in the office watching the live feed via Bloomberg of the announcement of his death. Showed sunset behind clouds fading into musicians and everything. Highly comical

...coming to an island continent near you soon...

While his people wept in the streets at the passing of their Dear Leader.
No matter that they're starving.

Also interesting is that according to official media reports a few months ago he played golf for the first time in his life and he shot a club record and scored 6 hole in ones in his first round...

... once the new leader has shown to be the love child of Herr Adolf Schickelgruber and Vasily Iosifovich Dzhugashvili, maybe we'll wish the old ill young were back.

I agree with your first comment.

My contacts in Onsong, however tell me that the Burgerkim is not as securely fastened to his balls as he would like.

Appartantly he has held meetings with chinese officials already, Maybe the chinese can persude this 20 year old to come around and he will see the benefits of the ipod generation and slowly start to break down the barriers.

As always this is just my opinion, But I have a feeling that the young leader will be influenced by the chinese and see that the way forward is to slowly open up to the world economy.
