But the bloke who follows him in the speeches (at end of part 2) is heard to say "why do I get the tough act to follow?" - and you have to believe that he means it lol.

Thanks for bringing this to attention 2020, excellent. Interesting, my Dad has been dead 40 years now and the philosophy espoused by Bobby in the above was the grass roots norm back then. Dad recieved bad injuries on N.G. WW2 but interesting never wanted to talk about it and hated the glorification on Anzac Day etc., My Grandfather similar from WW1 had the same problem with the celebrations.

Yet our estemed leaders want to bring it all on and make the youth think it is great. Interesting when Bobby said that the current Fed Admin are a collection of the greatest conscript dodgers of all time.

Somewhere in the Babybooomer generation we have lost awareness that the wool is being pulled over our eyes. I remember my Mother, a leftie, did not like Malcolm Fraser, who lived near us, up the bush back then. My Dad did and had him over as a guest speaker to the local RSL on what they called thier annual Smoke Night. And today we find Fraser fighting for civil rights and also a leftie, how far we have come.

What are the answers and solutions, bit much to think about now but interested to hear some other takes.

2. draft dodgers ? - yep - and from memory, in Fahrenheit 9/11 only one senator (in good US patriotic tradition of this just war etc etc ) had a son involved - but they are good at sending the sons of others.

4. fascinating take lol - case well put. Fraser now a leftie, lol You'd have to assume that he and Howard approached the top job from different directions. I heard him Fraser speak to an assembled APEX club meeting at Magnetic Island once - we'd flown down from PNG in an old wartime DC3 set up for parachuting - with seats around the sides lol (and so much beer on board that you couldn't see the blokes on the other side lol - no hosties to say ... "please stash those slabs under your seats !! "

I was asked not to give him such a hard time with unsolicited interjections lol - (as I recall - my memory was pretty blurred even the next day) .... for some reason Fraser was all blurry round the edges -

anyways , I should have said "whattaya mean, you don't like hard questions!?? - I thought life wasn't meant to be easy !!"

So true, these Politicians etc who Influence the masses opinion via Televisions must be petrified of the Internet and its ability to deliver the truth to the ever growing number of people who seek it.


One scary thing is that it is Possible that Iran has deadly intentions but now that all credibility and trust seems to be eroded away, who knows how itll turn out.

back in the 1979 we went from 18 mpg to 25.5 mpg in 6 yrs
we reduced oil import from mid east by 87%
if we left those standards intact we wouldn't have had to import a drop - would have avoided 2 gulf wars
