There is an interesting debate in the USA at present about censorship.

Apparently a student photoshopped a photo of Obama and turned it in to an Obama/Joker Parody.

It was subsequently censored and removed by flickr.

Is this appropriate, to censor, or is it too insulting to remain on flickr?

I don't think the censorship was appropriate, but it shouldn't be unexpected either. Flickr no doubt reserves the right to pull whatever picture it wants. If he had posted it on his own site and it was shut down, that would be something to debate.

Maybe.

It seems somebody complained , probably Time , for copyright infringement and the author of the Jokerbama plans to fight the complaint.

It sounds like censorship to me.
