I've been googling and haven't really found a cheap way to get a downloadable file for historical dividend data.

I've got a spreadsheet I use to keep track of stocks I have my eye on. I like to manipulate the data myself to get an idea of how things will look over the next year or 2 under various scenarios.

Anyone got a tip on how I can get the data at a reasonable price?

There's a script in the Amibroker 3rd party area that I used in the past to scrape dividend data from a web page. It's setup to convert the data into ascii then import into Amibroker but any spreadsheet can be used to access ascii format. I haven't used it for a few years so not even sure if it still works but may be worth exploring.

This seems like this is the best place. http://www.sharedividends.com.au
It is a webpage though, not a downloadable file.

It maybe possible to use scripts to automatically get this data and scrub it. Can't promise anything but PM me if your interested.

I'm pretty sure Comsec has this data in their platform if you use that (downloadable in excel format or metastock)
