Am I on my own, thinking Ross Gittins is a bit lost?
His explanation for the increase in spending on services, just shows how out of touch he is.
Maybe, just maybe we are getting people to do things for us, because it now takes two wages to service the average mortgage, so therefore there is less time to do things for ourselves. DUH

I like reading a diversity of opinion, and usually I can take someone's point of view and find something in it that I can learn from, or agree with, or at least see a different perspective.

But I must admit that I have never, not even once, read an article by Ross Gittens and thought to myself, "yeah, that seems about right", or "oh yeah, I never looked at it that way but I can see his point".

Doubtless Ross knows a great deal more about economics than I do (and granted that would not be hard), but I have drawn the conclusion that his form of economics has no intersection with the planet on which I reside.

Thats exactly how I see it, I just can't seem to follow his line of reasoning.
