Is there an iTunes app you can buy that offers live feed data from asx? I have the delayed data ones, but I wonder if there is a live feed one.

Yes Absolutely...$37.50 however the SPI (futures market) is free.

I dont beleive their is free live data available , well not for asx anyway

Beaware of Market Makers offering free anything...

The ASX charges well over $10k pm to anyone who wants access to live data, so this cost has to be passed on somehow unfortuanely.

Why is the monthly data access to the ASX so expensive compared to the other exchanges?

Without being disrespectful and I sincerely mean this....

These costs are what they are... Costs of running a business.
The goal is to make more than we spend...and if we make much more thats a bonus :D

Many people talk daily about the high price of petrol at $1.40 per LITRE
Not much conversation is made about the price of coffee at $3.50 per 300mls

Monopoly of the only exchange in Aus. Most other major countries have more than 1 exchange meaning costs come down.

Given the time elapsed since the last post...just wondering if any free apps have become available that provides streaming data/updates on SP on the ASX?

I know it's unlikely, but just having a go. I found one today which was free, but reading the reviews, you have to pay for notifications (which was not mentioned anywhere on the app description).

The Australian Securities Exchange still charge royalties for access to live data.

Either you find someone willing to pay the fees (perhaps in exchange for brokerage you generate) or you pay the money.

The fees have not decreased since Chi-X became operational.

Thanks Richard, perhaps I will wait another 5 years (I'm not a huge/frequent trader, so no financial sense to pay for it). I just thought it'd be convenient.
