I want to start start off with only $1000 to invest - really want to keep this low risk. Where could i begin to do my research ? is it even possible to begin with only $ 1000 ? I live in Sydney. Thanks for your help

You buy/sell just like any other stock on the ASX. I'm thinking about buying some BRIC (ASX:IBK) http://www.asx.com.au/products/managed_funds/tools/research.htm
