Hi All

I found this comment dated Feb08 about IB on the internet. Anyone else have similar experiences?

(3) Anara Sagimbaeva says:

Opened account more than a month ago and can’t get my $10.000 back for more than a month. People on the phone and email lying about sending money and coming up with “tasks” I have to complete to prove that I am who I am. Account blocked. They refuse to send money back where account was funded from. I just can’t believe anything like this is legal.
I would love to join class action law suite if there is any - this is outrageous.

Cheers!

I've just transferred a fairly substantial amount of money out of my Citi Bank IB account about two weeks ago. I had no issues at all and in fact it was in my Westpac account the very next day to my complete and utter surprise (read:relief).

I did read somewhere that someone was having trouble transferring money that was 10k or less, and they didn't really want to do that unless they charged a big fee.

Cheers,

Why relief?
Something I should know?

I have withdrawn money on several occasions and its always been a straight forward procedure, money into my Australian bank account overnight.

No, i meant i was relieved that i had no issues like the other chap had reported. I guess at the time i was also relieved to get my funds into a decent Aussie bank and out of Citi until the dust settles.

Cheers,

I transferred money to my HSBC AUD account. HSBC charged me 10 AUD for handling a SWIFT payment.
I had already proved to IB who I am before I gave them any money.

I hve been using IB for several years now and have never had problems transferring money into or out of my account, regardless of the size of the transfer.

Transfers from IB are usually in my Macquarie CMT the next day.

Provided the account you are transferring money to is in the same name as the IB account, and is the same bank account it was funded from, then there will be no problems.
