For what its worth I know some of the people behind this and they are experienced and very good.

Seen the forward projection numbers for demand and its all blue sky, barring other technologies it seems a no brainer.

Its a great story and hopefully goes well, of course lots of hurdles to cross from this stage like any new listing.

In case people don't know there is more graphite in lithium battens than lithium, I guess lithium sounds sexier.

I will be holding the stock.

Any ideas on a revised date Dona?

Can someone give me shout when it starts trading?
Have had it in a temp list, but it's annoying...
from the IG6 website:
Interest from potential investors has been overwhelming and our IPO has closed within hours. Thank you to everyone for supporting our vision for graphite in Western Australia.
from the ASX:
from a deep font of institutional knowledge and observational realities:
I'd give it a fortnight from 31/3 ... usually seems

@frugal.rock , it looks like today is your day for this one.

International Graphite Limited (‘IG6’) was admitted to the Official List of ASX on Tuesday, 5 April 2022. The securities of IG6 will commence quotation at 12.30pm AEST on Thursday, 7 April 2022.

Not to sure, without crunching numbers, but the lineup looks like opening approx 60 cent , thus far?! Crikey.
Crappy market day for a listing though. I've forgotten another stock that listed recently on a crappy day, didn't fare well...

Funny numbers. They drop off close to open, as a rule. Algo's ain't algos

IG6 opened at 40c, pushed to 42c but retreated. Some 3 million traded in first few minutes, then things settled. Down to 36c, and back around 40c as Day One progresses.

Issued at 20cents looking to close at 40 not bad for a down day.

edit beat me to it Dona

Issued at 20cents looking to close at 40 ...
I'd forgotten about this one until @IFocus mentioned it in a battery thread.... And IG6 has had its ups and downs since listing just under a year ago. Mainly downs, but not alarmingly.

  • High-quality spheroidised graphite product successfully produced from imported concentrate.
  • Qualification scale graphite micronising equipment ordered - a key step towards commercial scale micronised graphite production.
  • $2M Financial Assistance Agreement signed with the Western Australian State Government for Collie Micronising Facility and BAM research and development studies.
Springdale Graphite Project
  • Resource infill diamond / RC drilling continues to yield high grade, shallow graphite intersections and validate the high grade domains of the existing Springdale Mineral Resource block model.
  • Three new graphite prospects discovered close to the existing Springdale Mineral Resource – Springdale Far West, Springfield Central and Springdale South (released after quarter end).
  • Revised Springdale Mineral Resource estimate due in the second quarter 2023.
Corporate
- Annual General Meeting held 30 November 2022.

Still bobbing along. Some might call a double bottom?

International Graphite and Comet agree funding and director appointments

International Graphite Limited (ASX: IG6) is pleased to announce that it and its major shareholder Comet Resources Limited have negotiated a transaction that resolves speculation around the short to medium term security of International Graphite shares owned by Comet.

The arrangements will prevent the short to medium term potential sell down of any of the 40 million International Graphite shares owned by Comet when the stock is released from ASX escrow on 07 April 2024.

International Graphite has agreed to loan Comet $1.5 million and Comet has granted International Graphite the right to appoint a majority of directors to the Comet board.

Phil Hearse talks about graphics future.

Graphite is top priority for the US
in critical battery minerals

IG6 Chairman and Founder Phil Hearse shares his views on the outstanding opportunities for Australian graphite after returning from the 10th annual Select USA Summit - the US Government’s biggest investment showcase.

"Australian graphite is firmly in the crosshairs of the US critical minerals industry. Nothing was more apparent during our recent trip to Washington, as part of an Australian trade delegation organised by the US Department of Commerce International Trade Administration.

After multiple meetings and two major conferences - the Benchmark Minerals Intelligence GigaUSA 2024 and the US Government’s SelectUSA Investment Summit - graphite came up time and again as the commodity that is of most supply concern to policy makers.

Presentations given by leaders from the US Department of Energy, US Department of Commerce, and other prominent US economic development agencies emphasised graphite as the most sought-after commodity and one that is expected to be top priority by 2027 and beyond.

China currently processes 98% of graphite used worldwide in the electric vehicle industry. In 2027, graphite imported into the US from a Foreign Entity of Concern (FOEC), (China, Russia, Iran and North Korea), will be hit with a 25% tax. In addition, consumers who purchase an EV in the US that contains a battery, with more than 25% of its components supplied by an FOEC, will not be eligible for the US$7,500 tax credit. Chinese car imports are already subject to a 100% impost in the US.

The history-making US Inflation Reduction Act is designed to grow domestic manufacturing capability and reduce critical minerals' supply chain reliance on China, in particular. Access to graphite is critical to the success of the plan but the US has very few graphite resources of its own. The solution rests with the import of quality graphite from trusted allies like Australia.

In December, the US Congress designated Australia a domestic source under the US Defence Production Act, allowing the US to provide grants for Australian critical minerals producers. This opens the US doors for emerging suppliers like International Graphite, with our world class graphite resource at Springdale, and the intellectual property we are developing at our Collie processing facility, in Western Australia.

IG6 Managing Director Andrew Worland and I have been talking to government and commercial decision makers, and the strong bonds between Australia and US, from a cultural, trade and defence perspective, are highly valued and repeatedly emphasised.

Demand for natural graphite is expected to exceed supply through the mid to late 2020’s and be in major supply deficit into the 2030’s.

International Graphite’s timing for development of Springdale and Collie is just about perfect."

Phil Hearse

IG6 is a long shot but they have been talking to the US administration lots of risk but if they land an agreement then there will be some rapid progress.
