1. To induce someone to convert to one's own religious faith.
2. To induce someone to join one's own political party or to espouse one's doctrine.
v.tr.
To convert (a person) from one belief, doctrine, cause, or faith to another.
That's a quite reasonable observation. One of the more amusing facets of ASF compared to other forums is that those who choose to commentate on political matters tend to share their view as if they are the ones who thought of it, as if they were proselytizing to a bunch of unwashed island savages who don't have access to their own information or are otherwise lacking any intelligent portion of the brain.
Currently lolThat's a quite reasonable observation.
I guess the political threads are the refuge of those of us who can be justifiably termed 'political junkies'. A place where our frustrations can find either support or argument.
I don't really think any of us are attempting to proselytize our views to anyone, sinner.
Perhaps you might like to contribute your own views about the political situation instead of remaining loftily critical?
The political threads can certainly do with some fresh observations, given the level of repetitiveness they currently exhibit.
Everyone except Labor sending Malaysia broke. So there will be plenty of material to work with in the future I think.....stay tuned.
Here you go Nulla: "proselytising" from the free dictionary:
Sounds about right with the fervour of alarmists all trying to "convert" the world to their way of thinking...
East Timor sending themselves broke.
I was referring to their rejection of a regional processing centre for asylum seekers.Might be a different story if they were getting their fair share of the oil royalties???
IFocus has used up so much bandwidth trolling with left wing propaganda, that Joe may have to close the site due to mounting costs.
However it is rumoured that the Fabian Society has offered him a bailout package in return for an equity partnership and certain broadcasting rights.
ASF being the Switzerland of online trading forums, analysts believe it will survive in it's current form guaranteeing neutrality and free speech... a few clicks from members and guests in the right place should do the trick.

Fair enough. At least it's not IFocus's fault. Well on the evidence to hand so far.
I could've sworn IFOCUS was a right wing liberal conservative whom simply chose to conceal personal political leanings by putting on a left wing Pro Labor facade!!!
Yeah I looked it up in a dictionary as well. However I think my interpretation has more character, style, panache. flexibilty, comfort, protection etc. Especialy those knarly ones.
OK -definitely more character - you win...
