OK, this is where I have to include myself. I think I related this embarrassing tale on ASF when it happened a few years ago.
I'd bought a new kettle, pretty cheap, from The Warehouse. Got it home, out of the packaging, filled with water and went to plug it in. The plug wouldn't seem to fit in the wall outlet. Actually walked round the kitchen trying all the outlets. No way it would go in. Start cursing cheap Chinese rubbish, cranky about having to take it back etc etc.
Told the teenager on the counter at The Warehouse the item wasn't fit for Australian use.
(You'll have guessed it by now). He very politely told me I'd failed to remove the plastic prong cover on the plug.
Don't think I've ever felt more foolish. Apologised profusely. The very courteous young chap was kind enough to assure me I wasn't the first.
So I'm hardly one to be talking about idiots!

Reminds me of someone at work (not me, honestly!) who drove straight through a closed roller door. You guessed it she backed straight into mine.
Fortunately roller door up!
Got it repaired---then straight into it again!
My cars fine hers not so fine--twice!
Or maybe just anyone who was silly enough not to put their glasses on.U must be a woman to do do that!!
Thanks for raising the issue of Mr Ryan. I could hardly believe that he is a potential VP when I heard about his beliefs. We have something for which to be grateful in this country after all in that such a person would never make it to a significant position here.I want to propose US Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan.
Some of his policies are pure idiocy - banning abortion even if having the baby will kill the girl or if she has been raped. I don't like abortion much but that is extreme.
Also he pushed for (and it got passed in Texas) that any women seeking an abortion must undergo a transvaginal ultrasound. The one you normally have on your stomach is not good enough for him, you need to make the woman feel awful. The US says they hate the nanny state but how can they put up with this level of government intrusion?
Surely he is one of the biggest idiots amongst us.
... such a person would never make it to a significant position here ...
I nominate James Hansen
I will see your James Hansen and raise you one Craig Emerson.
I'll match Craig Emerson with Christine Milne and raise you one Sarah Hanson-Young
A RAA patrolman gets a callout to a child locked in car.
Hysterical woman standing next to a Mercedes saloon is crying "My liebling ... My liebling!"
Man saunters over, peers into car. Signals child to pop up the button.
Stupid or naive?
Prince Harry's bad blood has assured him Idiot status. What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas.
