How to set a stop loss with Commsec?

The good thing is if you do place the conditional order and it doesn't trigger, you won't have to pay the extra $10 anyway.
And if it does trigger, I bet you you'll save yourself more than $10!

If you get the $10 you still have to pay even if it doenst trigger... you need to get the $15 for that dont you?

Correct me if i'm wrong but the commsec trailing stops are calculated once a day aren't they? I need the stop loss to be calculated regularly, at least ever hour which I don't mind doing manually.
 
Conditional Trading is "easily affordable" with two pricing options^.

1. You can elect to pay an "Up front" fee of $9.95* when you place an order. If the order is subsequently triggered and executed you then pay brokerage on the trade. You pay the "Up front" fee regardless of execution; or
2. You can choose to pay "On execution" and pay $14.95* plus standard brokerage when an order is executed. You do not pay the "On execution" fee if the trade is not executed.

Not sure about that. I wanted this feature and contacted comsec who said at this stage they don't have a trailing stop loss. The $14.95 means you can alter it manually without incurring a fee but you can't set it to trigger automatically say by a 3% drop off a peak. I'm a newbie so would be interested to hear if this is not the case.
 
I notice in Commsec's terms and conditions that they retain to right to charge a cancellation fee on conditional orders.

Has anyone been charged a cancellation fee on the $14.95 option when cancelled?

Also, if they don't charge a cancellation fee, do they charge you if you cancel the conditional stop loss and then sell manually at the same price?

I was thinking that if no charges for cancellations are made you could keep your stop loss protection for when you are not vigilant, but get around the fees for when you are actively monitoring.....

I've signed up for conditional trading but have yet to use it.

FYI I have cancelled many a conditional order with CS on 14.95 fee on order execution, even sometimes after the trigger placed a buy/sell order in the market (which I subsequently cancelled). Never been charged a fee yet.

I know I am digging up a really old thread, but I think it's important to update that Commsec have waived their conditional ordering fees. I see no mention of this being a limited time promotion. It seems to be here to stay. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Commsec once again years behind everyone else... I wonder if this will create bigger breakouts in the short term
