How to download years worth of data onto NT?

Just wondering how do I view say for example the emini sp500 daily for the last 5 years on NT?

Also im subscribed to IB's futures live data. If I connect that to NT, does that automatically by pass the manual downloading of each day for market replay?

IBs historical data is limited....can't recall how much you can get into NT though, but you'll get a warning that your over your quota. Kinetick is good for historical intraday....maybe 50 USA per month for CME.
 
Thanks Can. Ill try to get it all set up by today. Iv'e been using only the 5 min chart this hole time on NT and some times glancing at a weekly chart.

Drafted up a semi business plan. Need to collect all the relevant info regarding market direction, have a better top down picture of whats going on and how the market will unfold etc before i even think of putting on a trade.

I was watching shark tank on tv yesterday. Similar to dragons den and this entrepreneur guy came in and one of the investors said to him " you're very excited, essentially impulsive and don't think far ahead where as I am calculated, focused etc".

Naturally I know I have the traits of the impulsive racing mindset. Half way through conversations with people Ill change topics 10 times just because my mind is racing.

Hopefully through having a proper plan I can calm myself down and be more focused on what im doing.
 
If you only want to look at daily or above, just connect to the "Kinetick" or "Yahoo" option in the account connections, they're both free EOD, Kinetick is good for that, should have 5 years worth on SP daily :xyxthumbs
 
Thanks thingy, figured it out. While connected to kinetick, I dont have the option of replay. So I have to save the daily/weekly charts and reference back to them when replaying recorder data on the sim or maybe later get premium data?

No well you can't be connected to market replay AND a data feed at the same time, not that I know of, I know you can connect to two data feeds(not that I have ever gotten it to work properly) at once.

I would probably just print out the daily/weeky of what I was going to sim trade and have it literally in front of me while I traded that time on market replay, instead of trying to have them both on your screen? Obviously the daily wouldn't change so a printout would work fine.
