Below are statements which I believe to be true.

1. When the Libs were in power, before the ALP, the illegal entry through our borders was minuscle.

2. Our Navy is now unable to cope with the mass of illegal entrants to Australia.

3. The ALP relaxed it's monitoring of illegal migrants.

4. Deserving migrants are being disadvantaged by queue jumpers under Labor Policy.

5. The ALP are now diverting badly needed foreign aid money to finance illegal entrants.

6. Australians are uncomfortable with illegal mass migration from the North.

7. All illegal migrants should be resettled in Rose Bay or Toorak amongst the ABC listening luvvies.

Sorry GG, I would have to disagree with this.

Send them to Bob Brown's place in Tasmania. Bob can cut the firewood to keep them warm.

In all seriousness, they need to go somewhere.

Rose Bay and Toorak have many open spaces for tents. I had a manse in the latter for some years so can attest to the fact.

Mind my statements which cannot be denied.

We need to fortify the north as the numbers will continue to grow, from other countries too in my view, until it really is an overwhelming flood of people. We are living in the best country in the world and everyone knows it.

We could with permaculture techniques turn a lot of the northern boundaries into farming which needs a lot of people to produce food. Israel is doing this.

The boat people would be put to work soon after arrival and our supervision and defence built up with a national service as I suggested on a thread here last week. It would also be good for the eighteen to 20 year old conscripts to be given some direction and training from high school before they enter the workforce or university. In a sense it could be a way for them to pay indirectly for tertiary studies without having to pay HECS.

These people would soon become our own in a few years who would then become part of the overall defence. And one could go on about the advantages.

At the moment all sides of politics are just piss.ng against the wind, point scoring and clouding the real issues.
 

Only those on the Left explod. Under the Liberal/National coalition there were no boats.

The little corporal Rudd gets in and whammo, it's on for young and old.

Gillard necks him and they increase.

Greens acquiesce.

It's there in the history of the problem.

Dear sir royal johnno may have stopped them a bit but at the end of the day the flood of people will pour in exponentially and we have to deal with it as a win for all sides.

Took awhile this time for anyone to come up with an answer to my statement. Why?... because its cosy in the armchair and therefore hard to think outside the square.

Green you say, again just a blustering diversion away from the issue to be resolved.
 

Borders need to be secure.

It's Lesson 101 in the Nation Syllabus.

If you do not have secure borders you cannot do the best for your own citizens.

Sorry for the late reply, I am on parole and unable to post frequently. We have a Green Mayor in Townsville and my Community Service has me assisting bush turkeys build their nests in rich Green honchos' gardens.

explod, If you're suggesting that asylum seeking be conscripts this could be untidy. There's very very few non Anglos in Defence as it is, by choice. Forcing them in? Not sure.
 

Agree, but we do not have the resources or manpower at the moment. We need to turn the whole thing back on itself so that the weakness/offence can be turned into a defence.

Re read and have a proper think about my earlier post today and we can work from there.

The political rubbish is just that, we need considered action.

Very good point, would take 8 to 10 years to fill the MCG.

Sorry for being sharp Kennas, but about a week back on an education topic I was suggesting that all able bodied 18 year old's be conscripted for semi military community service before going on to work, uni or a trade. It would be a part of that contingent that may be useful in keeping the boat arrivals at bay and ensuring they work as detailed to develop the far northern regions of our country.
 
I grew up in the country where there was a lot of xenophobia about the bloody Italians and Greeks, now their kids are Aussie. These boat people want to break into our country and work? They want to be cleaners and cab drivers and send their kids to university to be doctors, lawyers and engineers. God help us.
 

I do not know anybody in the ADF who would support conscription. Unwilling conscripts are a pain the **** for any military anywhere in the world.

We need to look for real solutions to the exploitation of poor migrants, exploited by smugglers, and aided and abetted over the last 5 years since the election of the little corporal Rudd.

The management of our Northern borders by soft Left and Green Australian government is nothing less than disgraceful since then.

Putting further impost on our stretched defence forces for ideological ends is obscene.

Not exactly sure where you are coming from but the Italians and Greeks are some of the finest in our community and many Asians are some of the best Doctor's and Scientist that we have.

However in the scenario I have painted it gives us a wonderful opportunity to populate and secure our defences to the north. We could do it.

Many of the descendants. of the early Europeans on the other hand form part of the laziest.
 

Do not agree. In Sweden where I saw it working (first hand) the young people embraced it. Sure there would be some resistance in the early stages but once in and enforced properly the young people would just see it as part of the pathway to adulthood.

Sorry I stuck my oar in, I grew up hearing people complain about the bloody wogs now some of my friends are wogs and they have even married into my family. Now all I hear is bloody Arabs, bloody Indians.... I am racist against dickheads.
