Hi 02meada,

If you are doing this for a school project, you might want to look at BGF and CSE. I think they will increase by 100-200% over the next 1/2 year.

However, please ignore this if you are looking to invest real money. These startup mining companies could also halve in value in the next 6 months.

ie. I am not making a recommendation for you or anyone else to buy BGF or CSE. They are high risk.

Hello and Welcome 02meada!
Go to www.asx.com.au and do the free online courses and also browse through the old posts on this site, especially the beginners lounge and the trading tips forums. Lots of books in your library too so good luck! And remember to be patient, these things take years to get your head around.

Welcome to the site...bit of a newbie here [to the site] myself but you'll find it's a great environment.

Are you participating in the ASX Australian Schools Stockmarket Comp? Was on the runner-up team here in QLD a few years ago (been out of 'jail'/school a few years now), and found it to be a great experience.

Since I'm assuming you're after short-term big gains, check out some of the tips here on the site for resource stocks, as they seem to be the big performers at the moment. The blue chip shares will barely move for you in the assumed 10 weeks or so you may have to work in, so risky shares are the best bet - trade wisely and do some research/read tutorials here on this forum. Just my 0.02, enjoy.
