I just noticed this in the Sydney Morning Herald a publication not renowned for accuracy, passion or lack of hyperbole.

A German man reportedly dumped by a Brazilian woman he met on the internet has been living in an airport for 13 days and isn't saying when he will leave.

The man, identified by authorities as Heinz Muller, is out of money, according to airport workers, some of whom bring him meals from the food court.

There are so many of these poor bastards, deceived by women and then dumped thousands of kilometres from home.

gg, I see it's an AP story, so hopefully there's some fact behind it. Poor bugger looks like he's been "stormified". It's a big freight hub I'm sure there would be a sympathetic cargo driver willing to strap him next to auto parts crates to get him out of there to make a fresh start

gg, I'm not sure how to get money to poor old Heinz, the mate I knew that had first hand knowledge of down that way mysteriously disappeared after a marriage breakdown in the early 90's. Some of us suspect he was reborn with a new identity and was running dodgey charters out Cancun way around Spring Break time for a while. It's probably just myth but makes a good yarn. But what freaked me was that pic of Heinz in the article it reminds me of another old mate who is no longer with us. Heinz has got that same Joe Cocker Mad Dogs & Englishmen fixed gaze. Freaky.
