Best program is between your ears, teach it how to spell and not post bad links on good sites and you are on the way (oh, and be nice to your mother !)

Stay away from "blackbox" programs and use programmable software that permits you to backtest properly, optimize variables, and modify as needed or when you want to try something new. Tradestation, AmiBroker, and to a lesser extent Metastock are examples. In addition, some brokers provide good programs such as WealthLab for their clients.

I think eBay is an excellent trading software/platform.

Alibaba is also quite good if you are doing large volumes.

Homer Simpson: "This isn't just another one of those get rich quick schemes. This scheme is guaranteed to get us rich... and quick!!"

Yea thanks dude I just wasted an hour going through Alibaba wondering if I should buy 100 boxes of "100% effective Dragon Power-sex products" :D

I think you are after trading software that will make you rich right?

I wonder what price you would market that at?

Hmmm… it’s guaranteed to make us a million, I’d spend $100K on that!
No wait… It’s guaranteed to make us a trillion, I’d spend $100 billion on that!

Ow, I only have $10,000, anyone wanna do a group purchase? if we can get together 10,000 people with $10,000 each we can be super rich, the software will tell us what to do! :D

I think the consensus is, spend a little time reading the appropiate places on this forum.
All will be revealed.

Cheers

Software can only show you what has been happening. It's up to you to develop the nous and prowess to draw conclusions about which instruments to buy and when to sell.

Your lament that the vendors are getting rich instead of you applies primarily to spruikers of crib sheets and newsletters. Software, while costing a license fee, leaves the decision to you. All you can ask therefore is, How reliable is this program? How fast and consistent is the data delivery? and Does it provide the calculations I require for my Trading Plan without fail?

In more than a decade of active trading, I have found three software packages that tick the boxes for me. Not one that ticks them all, which is why I use consistently two in parallel: Market Analyser Professional for Technical Analysis, and Pulse for real-time trade monitoring and execution. Functionally, they overlap; but I prefer "belt and braces" rather than risk losing a trade to a program crash.
Providers are http://www.mdsfinancial.com.au/ and http://www.paritech.com.au/ respectively.

If you do not like the price tags, you may try IncredibleCharts; that may not give you the ultimate in real-time speed and one-click order execution, but its charting features are adequate - and it's free.
