Thanks @Dona Ferentes for starting the thread. I opened the forum just now to do the same. You were 20 minutes ahead of my planned action - all about the right timing for sure :)
HALO had the IPO price $1.20. All of their staff members and advisers used their hard earned money on preferred allocation with escrow condition. I was persuaded to do the same but some how, it did not appeal to put that high price for it.

The business model was not appealing and I also got excellent feedbacks and suggestions from ASF mates about the weakness of this IPO. Thankfully I listened the message and saved fortune (of my own level).

There was enormous delay in getting the stock listed and HALO team was blaming ASX for the delay. What they did not disclose the required due diligence was not complied. The stock came down at 56 cents at one stage.
The punters who bought at that price have made killing with today's price up by 22% at 86 cents.
The max price 93 cents rose today was still lesser than IPO price.
The volume was also very low and probably HAL would come to some acceptable level in next few days .
But to me it remains a dud to put hard earned money and rather look into more exciting casino odds :)

I searched for Halo but somehow I missed your thread. In fact I even posted some stuff in it. Rereading; yes, taking two years to come to market isn't a good sign. I rarely see any benefit for these sorts of floats.
  • Is there a moat? Probably Not.
  • Do I understand what they do? Probably not
  • Have early investors put money in at a lower price and might look to monetise their position? Probably
  • Who are the natural buyers of such a stock? Those associated with it, but they probably get options and golden handcuffs to stick around.
  • And if things don't work out, are they going to stick around? Probably Not .... and likely to dump any shares they hold..

No inner glow with this one. No beatific joy to any associated with it.
Who are our users?
Predominantly sophisticated, HNWs. Older and wealthier than users targeted by most other execution platforms in Australia
.
.
Never heard of them
