Tokyo Cracks Down on Train Groping
Any woman who has been a long-suffering commuter on Tokyo's efficient but overcrowded trains knows that being groped in one of the cars is as dependable as the timetable. Molestation can take many forms: a stray hand, a heavy leaner, a brazen whisperer or flagrant physical contact.

It's always amazed me that this kind of behaviour exists in such a creative and structured society.

After all they gave us the Prius, the 180B, Maki Sushi and entertaining TV game shows involving lactose-intolerant sumo wrestlers.

I pity the day when a holidaying Tokyo office worker, on their 4 day annual leave, pulls the grouping stunt on a solid Aussie gal, while travelling on the daily 6:37am Bombay Express from Robina to Central. They may require the assistance of their travel insurance to medicvac them in an Encore back to Narita.

I myself have been groped in Narita by a young lass and would oppose any relaxation of the groping ethic, its all for a reason, it makes sense.

I cant think of a better way to promote public transport.

I was quite traumatised by it and travelled on the same train four more times, nothing happened and I nearly missed my flight and missed out on the goodies in the JAL Business Lounge,

I suppose they could always hand out complimentary tasers and mace... that would scare off any would be gropers. I really dont see the point in 'gangs' working together just to get a half a second handful of a mammary gland : I mean come on that is just pathetic...
