I had a bunch of trees with Great Southern 2006 Plantation that were on Tiwi Island leases. Upon expiry on September 30th 2009, these leases (and trees) have reverted to the Tiwi Island Land Council, leaving me with a fat, high interest loan against no investment. Other investors in the same scheme have, by random allocation, their trees on mainland leases that have not been taken over.
What, if anything, have others in my situation done? Has anyone stopped paying the loan? Are there any class actions running?
Doesn't seem right to me that I have lost my entire investment based on chance allocation of lots...
