(Almost) welded-on Firefox user here.
Love all the add-ons etc.

But always willing to try out new ideas (well...sometimes).

Anyone using Google Chrome?
Opinions, feedback etc?
 
I am using it right now... I much prefer it to explorer, firefox and safari...

only problem I have with it is that it has to quit to upgrade adobe flash player lol...

oh and the hotmail site seems to run funny... Bit of industry sabotage me thinks
 
I often have trouble refreshing ASF in IE or Opera. Have rarely experienced that in Chrome. Chrome loads Facebook and ebay faster than any of the other browsers I've used.

My wife was having massive problems with news sites and Facebook using IE. She hasn't had those problems since switching to Chrome.

When you open a new tab it has a speed dial function where the most recently (and most often) viewed pages are shown as thumbnails. Very handy. I like the bookmark layout as well.

Overall for me, it has been a more positive experience than using any other browser.

Edit: I can't comment on add-on comparisons as I never use them.
 
Whenever i try to install Chrome and then run it I get error msgs. So i uninstall it and stick with Firefox.
 
Chrome works fine for me except for the Commsec site. Quite often you can't go back your previous page.

e.g. You are looking at the depth of a stock. You go to the Order Status page to make a change. Then you find to get back to the depth page you have to select Trading and re-enter the stock.

So I revert to IE for Commsec.

You can get this feature on firefox using an add on called fast dial.
I generally use both browsers at the same time. Chrome is noticeably faster i think and is good for use for multiple tabs as the system is designed to not crash the entire browser when a site is stuck. I like this feature as I often have 20+ tabs open at any one time and it is incredible annoying when one of these freeze up or lag. This cant happen in chrome as each tab acts like an independent browser.

The only problems I've found with chrome is the lack of addons, the inability to save the tabs you have open for the next time you open it and as mentioned before, problems when running hotmail.
 
It takes a lot of memory. And slows down systems which are old, lacking duel-, quad- core powerh!

It is fast if you are a user who just visit 2-4 websites, in-tabs at a time. But as soon as you step in to the realm of 15+ tabs things get a bit slow (not only the browser but the whole system). The reason is the treating of each tab as a separate application, which takes a lot of memory and processor time.

But as I said, if you have a newer system with quad-core powerh, you can't go wrong using any of them.

But meantime I will stick with firefox. Easy add-ons and a lot of websites/industry support. Chrome like most of other Google's application might die a slow death.

Google Chrome - Browser

Just downloaded it and giving it a go now.
I usually use Firefox (IE is frozen, and l can't seem to remove it). Has anyone else been using Chrome? If so, thoughts? Any problems to report?
 
I'm using it now, have been for around six months. Very fast, and it runs fine on my laptop even with 10+ tabs open.

Two big, favourite reasons I love it:

-very simple, intuitive, uncluttered UI. It's a web browser, not a shuttle control station. Web browsing is not a complicated process. You should be able to do what you want with a minimum of clicks and typing.

-built-in configurable searching from the url box. You can set it up to search ASF if you want. Click in the url box, start typing 'auss...', hit tab, type your search term, hit enter, see results; it took one mouse click. Nobody does searching better than google.

The only issue is that it doesn't co-operate fully with some M$-based sites, like those based on SharePoint technology - my company's intranet, for example.

Haven't used Firefox, so I can't compare. IE blows.
 
Google Chrome

Good morning,

recently i switched over from Internet Explorer 10 to Google Chrome, and i must admit I am in love. Google have killed it with this browser.

Anyone else using it?

It has some sick features, is super fast and easy to use. tick tick tick.

I've been a long time Firefox user, and im keen to try out Chrome. I stay far away from IE!

I have an issue with Chrome though, every time i try installing chrome i get an application error reading 'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application.'

This happens on my work computer that has Vista home, and my home computer that has XP Pro.

Any ideas on what is going on?
 
The only drawback for me with Chrome is the media capabilities. I watch alot of internet tv and Chrome doesnt work with most of the internet tv sites.
 
I was a firefox user and had increasingly frequent crashes when accessing some sites. I moved onto chrome and never looked back... it's easy to move all your bookmarks and favicons across from firefox. I find chrome significantly faster but miss the firefox, IE menus... I find it slower to do things like save pages via the chrome drop-down menus. My advice is to make the switch.
